Arduino Education

Teaching, Inspiring and Empowering!

Arduino Education is a dedicated team formed by education experts, content developers, engineers and interaction designers from all around the world. We are focused on developing the next generation of STEAM programs and supporting the needs of educators and students throughout the educational journey.
Arduino Education
Arduino is an open-source hardware, software and content platform with a global community. It’s intended for anyone making interactive projects. Visit us at arduino.cc .
Arduino technology is used to:
Develop: At universities it is widely adopted in the fields of engineering, Internet of Things, robotics, art, and design, to name just a few.
Teach and learn: Many secondary schools use it with innovative techniques for cross-curriculum studies.
Play: Primary schools use toys powered by Arduino technology to introduce physical learning, logic, building skills, and problem solving. Arduino’s Immersive Educational Environment promotes the creative process through project-based learning, with a focus on student interaction and group collaboration.
Back in 2012, I was given the challenge of bringing project-based learning to my first group of upper secondary schools in Spain. I realized at the time that almost no one was addressing the needs of educators when introducing curriculum. Therefore, I decided that we had to put educators at the center of our concept and help them find creative ways to use technology in the classroom. Arduino Education is not just about making interesting projects with students, it is also about getting acquainted with developing technologies and new methods of teaching.

Creative Technologies in the Classroom 101
Creative Technologies in the Classroom 101 (CTC 101), is the flagship Arduino educational program for schools.
Arduino CTC 101 is a modular STEAM program consisting of a toolbox with 26 projects and easy-to-assemble experiments, an online platform, and guided training/support for educators. The program, tailored for ages 13 to 17, has 5 modules and introduces students to the foundations of programming and basic coding, Arduino boards and digital signals, analog signals and serial communication, robotics, power systems and motors, wireless communication via Bluetooth and advanced sensors.

Toolbox

Includes boards, shields and components for a class of up to 30 students: 6 Arduino 101 boards and Education Shields; a set of components; motors; and plug-and-play sensors and actuators.

Online Platform

Users receive access to the online platform for a year. Up to 3 educators are granted access. Educators can then add/remove students to/ from the platform at any time within that year—up to 30 per toolbox.

Educators Support

Dedicated online communication from the Arduino Education team from the start: toolbox purchase advice, online platform access, student enrollment, and further questions regarding CTC 101 deployment in the classroom.

Testimonials

CTC is one of our best educational activities and makes us especially proud on account of its potential for teacher training, student motivation, and transformation of the society in which we live.
Javier Hidalgo, Head of Exhibitions and Programmes, la Caixa Foundation
It was new, interesting and educational. The students appreciated Arduino, and the interest is wide among students and teachers alike.
Teacher, CTC Kreatech, Skåne Sweden
CTC It's a great way to get started with programming, electronics, and automation — this program is so entertaining and fun that it does not seem like you're taking a class — all classes should be as interactive and constructive just like these!
